David had a couple of days off work following the 4th of July, so we took the opportunity to go to Kansas City. We couldn't leave as early as we wanted because of the boys' swimming lessons, but headed out as soon as they finished up on Friday.

The headphones lasted all of about 5 minutes for Porter. He's not into movies yet. Still, he did great on the trip. In fact, all of the boys were traveling champs.
When we told Porter he could take a nap, he tried using the beach towel as his blanket, but just couldn't figure out how he was going to lay down. Needless to say, he did not fall asleep.
Once we made it to Kansas City, we got dinner (yummy New York style pizza) and headed to our hotel. David then took the opportunity to do a session at the Kansas City Temple, which opened this May. Our closest temple is 4 hours away (Oklahoma City) and we were hoping this one was closer, but it turns out it is about the same distance. :-(
While David was at the temple, I hung out with the boys for a bit and then put them to bed. Porter finally got the sleep he wanted.
These two whispered together for over an hour before falling asleep, but didn't seem to disturb the tired Porter.
Getting ready the following morning. This is the typical morning routine at our house...only Porter stands on a stool as I get ready, instead of a cooler. Funny kid.

The Legoland favorite for Caden and Luke were the rides. Unfortunately, there were only two of them.
Luke got to ride with a stranger each time, but he didn't seem to mind too much.
Poor little Porter desperately wanted to go on this ride, but didn't meet the height requirement. He watched longingly through the fence. Someday buddy!
The Hallmark Visitors Center was next to Legoland so we checked it out too.
Not sure what this mannequin is all about, but Porter thought she was real.

I love Hallmark ornaments so David had to take a picture of me with the keepsake ornaments.
