Summer Pics

So, we didn't have a computer for two weeks. It died. It took me two weeks beyond that to download our pictures to our new computer. Therefore, be prepared....this is going to be a marathon post of our last month.

Luke and Caden hanging out at the fountain on the grounds of the Chicago Temple. We went to the Distribution Center (located at the temple) and decided to hang out for awhile as it had been a particularly difficult day (cranky, cranky kids). What a peaceful place.

We went to Wagner Farm again (July 4th weekend) at Luke's request. Here are the boys standing outside the pig pen.

Love the picture of this pig.

Here's a cow that just finished getting milked. No need to do it the old fashioned way when you can have this great equipment do it for you! This is inside the Ice Cream Parlor at Wagner Farm where they serve ice cream made from the milk of the cows on the farm. The ice cream looked yummy. We left our money in
the car. :-(

Caden, standing outside the cow pasture.

I couldn't get one picture of Caden looking at the camera...some days there is just no cooperation.

Luke couldn't leave before checking out the tractor.

Luke tested out swimming lessons this summer. He maxed out at 10 seconds in the water. This kid has far too many fears to count. Here is David trying to convince Luke to get back in. He never did.

With all the heat we have had this summer, our grass has turned a beautiful shade of yellow. Our first summer here in Illinois, I was surprised to discover that many people don't have sprinkler systems. What? So, here we are trying to green up the lawn a bit (unfortunately, that will probably have to wait until next spring). I'm not sure who/what ended up with the most water...the grass, the driveway, or the boys.

It's amazing how a little water can bring such happiness.

Luke can handle this but not swimming lessons?????

"Helping" dad water the plants.

Luke and Caden taking a turn watering the tree.

Getting dry and watching dad get some real watering in.

Just chillin' on the couch. Sometimes Caden likes to do his own thing and other times he likes to do whatever Luke is doing.

Our ward has a weekly park day. Last week we went to the "Spray 'n Play" instead of a park. Luke has been looking forward to it for weeks.

Here's Caden just testing it out.

Not sure he wants to get too wet.

Okay, maybe just a little.

Dry Luke.

Wet Luke.

Shooting a water gun with dad. This park day is the only one to take place in the evening, so David was able to come with us. Love that!

  1. So were these group swimming lessons? It seems to me he really needs one on one for swimming. I think that can make all the difference. I wish he could work with Pam, I know she could break him!
