We had a fun 4th, spent with friends. We first went to our city's parade. Our family got there early and saved places for the other two families. I happen to really love this parade. It doesn't start too early...10am. You can show up 30-40 minutes early and still find a place to sit. It is not lengthy, about an hour. And the kids love that those in the parade throw candy at them.

The big boys went on the First Annual 4th of July Bike Ride.

We had a BBQ on our own and met up with the same friends from the parade to watch fireworks together. I kind of love this event too. Again, it is easy to find a spot on the lawn (it is huge) at the Junior High to watch from. The kids get to play catch, frisbee or run off their energy while we wait. The fireworks hit the spot. And the traffic to get home is minimal. When we leave, I am going to miss this place! And these friends!
