Luke Turns 5!

Happy Birthday Luke!!

We tested out another egg-less cake this year.  I have been determined to find one that tastes good so this guy can have the birthday experience of every other kid.
His no egg cake last year was not tasty...at all.  He took one bite and was done, just like the rest of us.

This one was a little better.  He took four bites.  He then very politely asked if he could eat his ice cream.
You bet kiddo!
The quest to find the perfect allergy-free cake may be over.  A cake without eggs just isn't that great.  Luke loves ice cream so we'll stick with what he loves.

(You know a cake isn't great when it's so heavy you can stab it with a fork and pick up the whole piece!  I like my cake a little fluffier...not to mention tastier!)

Ice Cream!!!

We love you Luke!

Luke got a KinderBike this year.
These bikes are great.  They are meant to teach kids how to balance (there are no pedals).  The idea is that it makes the transition to a bike (without training wheels) much easier because they have already learned how to balance.  This sweet boy has such fears about anything he deems dangerous...like riding a bike without training wheels.  We thought this might help him to learn to ride a bike before he is 10.  Not that there is anything wrong with learning to ride a bike at 10!

And, best of all, he is loving this new bike.

Learning to balance.

Here is Caden testing out the technique on his plasma car.
